Spray Foam Insulation
Spray Foam Insulation:
- Retrofit foam - Apply foam in existing wall by drilling a hole in the wall, giving access to apply the foam. The injection foam application can be made from the exterior or interior of the building. Many type of construction can be retrofitted.
- Open Cell Foam Insulation - Type of foam where the tiny cells are not completely closed. It is a very good air barrier but does not provide any type of water vapor barrier. Not recommended for outdoor applications. R-Value 3.9 per inch
- Closed cell foam insulation - much denser than open cell. It has a smaller, more compact cell structure. Closed cell foam is a very good air barrier as well as a water vapor barrier. Often used in roofing projects or other outdoor application. R-Value 6.3 per inch
Efficent as an air sealer & waterproofing agent
Spray foam insulation helps seal the home to help the indoor air from escaping and preventing outside air from entering.
Insulation that is sprayed in buildings protect against moisture. In result reducing the chance of harmful mildew.
Also used to reduce noise. Foam insulation serves as a barrier to sound.
